Ladies Take Over Nikon Booth at SHOT Show

The dust has finally settled (for the most part) from ATA and SHOT Show, needless to say, I have been chomping at the bit to write this post.

Ladies completely took over the Nikon booth at SHOT Show for the official launch of the Nikon SHE Binocular. The women’s only launch party had the who’s-who of the industry in attendance; celebrities, retailers, buyers, media and women from companies in the industry.

They all gathered for a champagne toast, it was not only a toast to two great companies coming together to create a supreme women's product, but also a toast to all the women in our industry.

Cupcakes from Las Vegas' GIMME SOME SUGAR. They made cupcakes with the Nikon and SHE logo as well as ones that look exactly like the binocular shoulder bags!

STOP THE THREAT™

If you were unable to make it to the 2010 SHOT Show, then you didn't see all of the people, shoulder to shoulder, in the Winchester Ammunition booth. Winchester has an outstanding line up of new products for 2010, but the excitement seemed to be floating around Winchester's new PDX1 410 and PDX1 12 gauge loads.

Both loads are designed to deliver threat-stopping power and offer customers more ammunition choices for personal defense.

PDX1™ 410

Highly effective in both shotguns and 410 compatible handguns, the PDX1 in 410 gauge features a distinctive black hull and black oxide high-base head and combines three plated Defense Disc™ projectiles and 12 pellets of plated BB shot. The result is the ideal personal protection load for short range engagement with the performance needed to stop threats. This load is also suitable for varmint hunting and pest control. Designed for use in the Taurus Judge, this new personal defense round provides maximum protection at close range (7 ft to 15 ft).

· 410 ga. 2 1/2”, 3 Defense Disc™ projectiles with 12 BBs

· 10 rd box

PDX1 12

The 12-gauge Supreme Elite® PDX1 features a distinctive black hull, black oxide high-base head and 3 pellets of Grex® buffered 00 plated buckshot nested on top of a 1 oz rifled slug. The result is the ideal, tight patterning personal defense load. The slug/buckshot combination provides optimum performance at short and longer ranges while compensating for aim error (15 ft-15 yds).

·12 ga. Slug/Buck combo

· Load: 12 gauge 2-3/4” 1 oz rifled slug with 3 pellets 00 Buck- buffered

· 10 rd box

Look for these loads to be in stores in the coming months.

Ballistics—There's an App for That

Got an iPhone? If so, well then go and download Winchester Ammunition's Ballistics Calculator from iPhone Apps for free.

If not...don't worry...you can still use it by going to Winchester's Web site.
The Web based calculator is live at www.winchester.com/ballistics.

The iPhone version of Winchester’s Ballistics Calculator, which was just launched during the 2010 SHOT Show, allows you to choose the type of ammunition and compare up to three different Winchester products with easy-to-read, high-tech ballistic charts and graphs. You can customize shooting conditions by entering wind speed and outside temperature, adjust zero marks for sighting in.

Here's an image that explains what I'm talking about:

If you're going to be attending the NWTF convention in Nashville in a couple of weeks, stop by the Winchester booth for your chance to win an iPhone and other awesome prizes.

The most interesting thing at ATA

I am finally digging myself out of e-mails, requests and press releases from the 2010 ATA and SHOT Shows. I always take a day for myself to walk around and see what is new and trending...the crazier, the better.

Bowtech made the top of my "will never forget" list at the ATA show in Columbus, OH. Bowtech had six tattoo designs to choose from and two tattoo artists in the booth ready to go. Bowtech footed the bill for your tattoo if you chose their design.

Everytime I walked by the Bowtech booth tattoo guns were buzzing and people were lined up to get their Bowtech Refuse to Follow tattoo.

I talked to one of the artists while he was working on a guy's arm. Between the two artists, they averaged 20-25 tattoos per show day and were booked solid.

Talk about branded for life, below is a YouTube video of two guys getting Bowtech ink while others wait their turn.
